Plywood Mobile is a suspended decoration designed by Charles & Ray Eames and produced by Vitra. Made of aircraft grade plywood with a lacquered finish. Available in two models.

Plywood Mobile is a decoration with a modern and original design. Made of plywood used in aeronautics, it will fascinate and amuse thanks to the suspension that makes it mobile and able to rotate. In the early 1940s Charles and Ray Eames conducted a series of experiments with the aim of refining their techniques for three-dimensional modelling of plywood. This research led to the creation of two biomorphically shaped objects. Each Plywood Mobile consists of two abstract, organically shaped plywood elements that playfully revolve around each other.

For the Eames Special Collection 2023, the two Plywood Mobile models are each available in a combination of two colours in harmony with each other, inspired by Ray Eames’ collages.
